Dana Boguszewski, Deena Centofanti and Brett Cooper each received a plaque in recognition of their years of service by the Hillsborough Board of Education.

The three were honored during the Dec. 17 meeting of the board of education.

Boguszewski served on the board since 2011, Centofanti since 2012 and Cooper joined in 2015. As elected representatives, these three individuals as well as all members of the board of education, served the community as volunteers.

According to the board of education, board members take part in twice monthly public meetings, monthly committee meetings, spend time reviewing minutes and materials, attend student and staff sponsored events, and speak with community members to address their questions, comments and concerns.

While on the board of education, Boguszewski served on the Human Resources and Operations Committees as well as the Education Committee.

Centofanti was a member of the Operations, Negotiations, and Governance Committees, chaired the Human Resources Committee, and was chosen to serve as vice president of the board in 2017.

In addition, she represented the board as the delegate to the Joint Council of the Home and School Associations and the Municipal Alliance.

Cooper served on the Operations, Human Resources and Education Committees.

“Dana, Deena and Brett have dedicated thousands of hours to ensuring that Hillsborough schools are great places to learn and work. Each one of them has had their decision making process guided by the question, ‘What is best for our students?’” said Doctor Jorden Schiff, Superintendent of Schools. “I am grateful for their generosity of time and talents during their tenure on the Hillsborough Board of Education.”
